1. Picturesque Hikes

Looking for a great hike with gorgeous views in Charlottesville? There are plenty of options when it comes to exploring the natural beauty of this scenic city. Some of our favorite hikes include Humpback Rocks Trail, Riprap Trail, and Rivanna River Trails (pictured below). The trails along the Rivanna River offer an abundance of greenery and wilderness from its 20-mile stretch. Whether you want to walk, bike, or run, the wide path is perfect to soak in the city’s natural beauty. Bonus, it’s just down the way from the Downtown Mall!

2. Downtown Mall

Nothing is better than walking the Downtown Mall on a warm spring afternoon. One of the most beautiful (and longest) malls is located right in the heart of Charlottesville with over 120 shops to chose from, as well as a mix of fine cafes for an afternoon bite. The beautiful brick and tree-lined strip offers you a charming walk while not having to worry about the hustle and bustle of traffic. The entertainment options are limitless whether you want to enjoy a movie at the theater or be entertained by live music from local musicians. If you are looking for a place to stroll with the family, this area is for you!

Take on the full Charlottesville experience by visiting some of Albemarle County’s local wineries while overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. With over 30 wineries in the area, (some with bed and breakfasts on-site), enjoy the finest wine with a stunning view. Make a trip to a local winery a must when visiting Charlottesville!
